Advancing Equity Across California

We advance equity by making systems understandable, participation possible, and community leadership central to public decision making.

WHO WE ARE

CalEquity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to advance equity through public education, advocacy, and community-centered leadership that expand opportunity and build lasting economic security for communities across California.

WHAT WE DO

Our work is rooted in the belief that people deserve clear information, practical tools, and meaningful pathways to participate in decisions that shape their lives.

Public Education

CalEquity is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to advance equity through public education, advocacy, and community-centered leadership that expand opportunity and build lasting economic security for communities across California.

Advocacy and Civic Engagement

We lead and uplift nonpartisan advocacy that centers lived experience and strengthens community participation in shaping policies and decisions that affect their lives.

Partnership and Collective Action

We work in partnership with organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to support community driven solutions that build sustainable pathways to equity across California.

WHY THIS WORK MATTERS

Equity is shaped by decisions about policy, resources, and power. When communities lack access to information or pathways to participate, inequity deepens.

When communities are informed and engaged, they can directly shape the outcomes that affect their lives and futures.

Impact

We show up by listening, responding, and building alongside our communities. Our work prioritizes access, clarity, and long term impact.

From California Outward

California has long been a testing ground for ideas that shape the nation. From policy innovation to civic engagement, what happens here often sets the direction for what comes next.

CalEquity is rooted in California, but our work is designed with scale in mind. By building models for public education, advocacy, and community-centered leadership, we contribute to approaches that can inform equity work beyond state borders.

What we learn by working alongside communities here helps shape conversations, strategies, and solutions wherever equity is being pursued.
